Northfield Schools to Be Delayed Two Hours Tuesday
Some morning classes are cancelled as well.
Northfield Public Schools will be delayed by two hours and some morning activities will be completely cancelled Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 due to continued cold weather.
Forecasters predict Tuesday’s high will be -1 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chill values as low as -35 degrees.
The following is the district's statement on the decision:
The Northfield Public Schools will open two hours late on Tuesday, January 7th due to the continued cold weather tomorrow morning. When school opens two hours late, half-day morning Kindergarten and pre-school classes are cancelled. Morning kid ventures is also cancelled.

On Friday, Gov. Mark Dayton ordered that all public schools statewide be closed on Monday, Jan. 6. With the cold snap lasting through Tuesday, districts were given the ability to chose their plans of action.
