Lealand George Armstrong, 84

Lealand Armstrong, age 84, of Northfield, passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, June 8, 2013

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at 11:00 am from the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Burial will take place in the Northfield Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Bierman Funeral Home and on Thursday one hour prior to the service.

Lealand is survived by his wife; Betty, two sons; Marvin (Kathy) Armstrong and Marshall (Ann) Armstrong both of Faribault.

George Clinton McCorkell, 79

George McCorkell, age 79, of Northfield, passed away Tuesday, June 04, 2013 at the Reflections Suites of the Three Links Campus in Northfield following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, June 9th at the Stanton United Methodist Church with burial at the Stanton Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-7:00 pm Saturday, June 8th at the Bierman Funeral Home and on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church.

George McCorkell is survived by daughter Theresa Lundy of Botswana, Africa; sons George and wife Cathy of Stevens Point, WI, David and wife Kimberly of Moreno, CA, Mark and wife Judy of Madison, WI, Jim and wife Chris Greenhow of St. Paul; sister Doris Pumper of Northfield; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are by the Bierman Funeral Home of Northfield.

Marjorie Warner, 87

Marjorie Evelyn Warner was born July 26, 1925, in Shakopee, Minnesota, to Ralph and Emma (Kruger) Warner and was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church.  At the age of 12 she moved to the State Hospital in Faribault.  In the mid-1970′s, she moved to a group home in St. Paul.  Marjorie did various types of work over the years including Kowalski’s Bakery in St. Paul, Federal Reserve Bank in Minneapolis and LeSueur County Developmental Services in Waterville.  In 2005, she moved to her current home in Montgomery.Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Joan and David Halvorson of Northfield;  4 nephews and nieces and their families: Mark (Sarah) Halvorson of Eden Prairie, Eric (Anne-Mette) Halvorson of Minneapolis, Kari (Mark) Pendergast of Plymouth and Lisa Silkey of Chaska.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Lois.Marjorie passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 28, 2013, at the New Prague Hospital, at the age of 87.Graveside services were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine with Rev. Van Miller officiating.Arrangements are with the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home.  www.northfieldfuneral.com

Jerry Fink, 73

Jerry Fink, 73 of Northfield, passed away Sunday, June 02, 2013 at the Reflection Care Suites of the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Church of St. Dominic in Northfield. Burial will take place in the Calvary Cemetery in Northfield. Visitation will be held on Monday one hour prior to the mass at the church.Jerry is survived by his daughters, Laureen Carlson, Stacia (Len) Goodman, Kelly Fink all of Minneapolis; sisters Patricia (Gene) Eldridge of Manteca, CA, Elaine (Louade) Degen of Faribault, Cathy (Bob) Draves of Northfield; brothers Peter (Donna) Fink of Farmington, George (Beverly) Fink of Northfield; and three grandchildren.Funeral arrangements are by the Bierman funeral Home of Northfield.

Linda Mayer, 90

Linda Mayer, 90, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield. Linda was born in Alexandowka in Russia to Edward and Erdmunda (Kreter) Walz. On May 13, 1950, in Germany, Linda married Jacob Mayer. They then immigrated to Rochester in 1952. She enjoyed gardening and collecting stamps. Linda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Linda is survived by her son, Gary (Lynn) Mayer of Savage, Minn.; grandchildren, Rachel Mayer, Aaron Mayer, Sara Berg and Alysa Berg Hannula; great-grandchildren, Adrienna, Kathryn and Jacob; and great, great-grandson, Keegan. Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob; daughter, Henny; brother, Arthur; and parents, Edward and Erdmunda. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.
