DEATH NOTICE: Joyce A. Droel, 85

Joyce passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Northfield Retirement Community.

Joyce Audrey (Anderson) Droel was born on July 27, 1927, in Minneapolis, MN to Harry D. And Aleda A. (Lund) Anderson.   She attended South High School in Minneapolis.  She worked in the office and in the cafeteria at Sears during World War II.  She was united in marriage to Louie Droel on May 6, 1944, in Wilkinson County, Mississippi.

Joyce was a woman who lived her whole life for God in service to others.  She delighted in being a homemaker, baking, sewing, and quilting.  Joyce very much enjoyed being with her family.  She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by: her daughter Donna (Rod) Magsam of Northfield, two grandchildren: Joshua (Holland) Magsam of Portland, OR, and Shanda Magsam of Edina; two great grandchildren: Jacob and Kai Magsam; and her brother Leslie Anderson of Minneapolis.  She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son James, granddaughter Heidi Magsam, sisters Phyllis Melcher and Doris Sharp; and two brothers: Wendell and Willard Anderson.

Joyce passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at the Northfield Retirement Community.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at the Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield, with Richard Raschke and Alfred Broady presiding. Music will be provided by Tyler, Zach, and Jenna Boelter.  Pallbearers will be Lyle Davies, Steve Hanson, Ed Roseen, Reed Boelter, David Lund, Dale Lund and Josh Magsam.  A luncheon will follow the service at the Northfield Senior Center, with interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 2:15 PM.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
