Northfield News: Local Resident Plans 'Compassionate Earth Walk'

Shodo Spring was to start walk along proposed path of the Keystone XL Pipeline on Monday, the newspaper reported.

Shodo Spring of Northfield is leading a walk to raise environmental awareness starting Monday, tracing the proposed route of the Keystone XL Pipeline from Alberta, Canada, to Steele City, NE, according to the Northfield News:



“It’s not a protest," Spring said. "It’s a hopeful statement that we can live on the earth in a way that actually sustains it."


In a column for Resilience.org, she wrote: “The walk is a prayer, a ceremony, an act of sending love to the earth – which includes all of us. I believe that the act of walking consciously will give something back to the earth, even if there is no other result.”
