Student-Created Sculpture Unveiled in Downtown Northfield
Here is a video from Friday's official unveiling of the Northfield Young Sculptors' second work of art, "Nature's Spheres."
“Nature’s Spheres,” the second public artwork created by the Northfield Young Sculptors, was officially unveiled Friday afternoon during a ceremony at the sculpture’s home for the next year, the corner of Third and Division streets.
The clay and metal creation, designed and constructed by a dozen Northfield High School students under the leadership of artist/teacher Rafa Estrella, was paid for by a grant from the South East Minnesota Arts Council and funding from the Minnesota State Legacy fund.
“Nature’s Spheres” takes the place of the program’s first work, “The Tree of Knowledge and Delight,” which will be erected in a sculpture garden at the high school.
