• Madigan provides an update on the status of fishing along the Riverwalk. He writes:

The “Fishgate” drama is calming down. The advisory signs are now in the right places and our Community Services Officer is working with the people fishing along the River Walk in a positive way to ensure a safe and clean River Walk experience for everyone.

• Community Development is being kept busy with building permits. “The colleges are surprising us with a number of smaller projects. The projects are mainly remodels, repairs and updates,” the memo says. “Significant progress is being made with the City Hall renovation project.

• The Streets and Parks Department says there were 4,274 visit to the city’s compost facility near Sechler Park in May.

• Summer ice starts June 17 at the Northfield Ice Arena.
