The Northfield Public Library’s annual Books & Stars concert and literacy series kicked off in grand fashion last week with fan favorite Justin Roberts.
There are plenty of noteworthy events coming up, too.
Below is a schedule of this summer’s concerts. Information is from the library’s Books & Stars 2013 webpage.

• June 19—Gottadidat, a cajun-dixie flavored band, at Oddfellows Park.
• June 26—Sticks-n-Tones, a rock-themed band, at Spring Creek Park.

• July 10—Blue Wolf Bluegrass at Way Park.
• July 17—The Castaways at the Old Memorial Pool. As part of this program, participants receive free admission to the pool after 6 p.m.
• July 24—The Okee Dokee Brothers, a Grammy-winning band, at Way Park.
• On July 31, the library will sponsor a talent show to end this summer's concert series. The deadline to enter is June 26, and performers chosen to take part will be announced at the July 10 concert. Click here for more information and an application.
Each concert begins at 7 p.m. Booker, the library’s bookmobile bus, will open at concert locations at 6:30.
