Film-maker, Carleton Senior Honored by Princess Grace Foundation

Peter Franco, class of 2014, will travel to New York City in October to receive the award in person.

A Carleton student was recently awarded an undergraduate scholarship in film from a not-for-profit, the Princess Grace Foundation-USA.

Peter Franco, class of 2014, is one of 24 emerging artists to receive this prestigious award from the foundation, which was founded 30 years ago by Prince Rainier III of Monaco in honor of his wife, famed Hollywood star and princess, Grace Kelly.

According a release from the foundation, Franco is pursuing majors in Cinema and Media Studies. During his college career, he has produced a number of short films. Last fall, he traveled to Prague to study 16mm filmmaking. The result was the short film, Vystrelovak (Pocket Knife).
