Man Airlifted After Collision Near Malt-O-Meal

After the man lost control, Northfield Deputy Chief of Police Chuck Walerius said the man's truck struck two parked vehicles and kicked up rocks, damaging five other vehicles in the parking lot at Highway 19 and Orchard Street.

A man has been airlifted to a Twin Cities hospital after police say he experienced a "medical issue" that caused him to lose control of his Chevrolet pickup truck and hit two other vehicles in a Malt-O-Meal parking lot.

After the man lost control, Northfield Deputy Chief of Police Chuck Walerius said the man's truck struck two parked vehicles and kicked up rocks, damaging five other vehicles in the parking lot at Highway 19 and Orchard Street.

"He was conscience at the scene but couldn't respond," Walerius said of the driver.

No other people were involved in the incident, which happened just before 1 p.m.

The driver was brought to Northfield Hospital before being airlifted.
