On Saturday night, the event drew a standing-room only crowd with more than 260 people in attendance, according to NHS executive director Hayes Scriven.

VIDEO: Ole Previews Ole and Lena Joke Night

Check out a few jokes ahead of Saturday's show.

There'll be no shortage of laughs. Saturday brings the return of the Ole and Lena Joke Night, an annual fundraiser for the Northfield Historical Society. This year's event, which starts at 7 p.m., takes place as the Grand Event Center. Northfied Patch recently caught up with Ole to see some of the stories he'll share on Saturday. According to the NHS, this year will feature "a 'new' Lena, plus the addition of Tina, transforming the performance into an Ole, Lena, and Tina extravaganza." The three will do a 90-minute show, followed by contributions from the audience. Ole and Lena Joke Night Returns

This year's event is scheduled for April 14.

This year's annual Ole and Lena Joke Night will take place Saturday, April 14, beginning at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30). In response to last year's large audience, the event has been moved to the Grand Event Center. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the event or, in advance, at the Northfield Historical Society. Appetizers will be provided, and a cash bar will be open.  This year's humor marathon will feature a "new" Lena, plus the addition of "Tina," transforming the performance into an Ole, Lena, and Tina extravaganza. The three will joke on stage for 90 minutes, followed by contributions from the audience. Visit the NHS for a taste of what Ole and Lena have in store . . . Hvistendahls to be Honored at Northfield Historical Society Annual Meeting

Social hour starts at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Great Hall at Carleton College. The meeting starts at 7 p.m.

The Northfield Historical Society holds its 37th annual meeting on Saturday at the Great Hall on the campus of Carleton College. The meeting is open to all members of the Northfield Historical Society and attendees need only sign up for membership on the evening of the event if they are not currently a member.  “We are hoping to have our best turnout ever as we have just launched our 1,000-member Campaign,” said the Society’s executive director, Hayes Scriven. The Northfield Historical Society will also honor the Hvistendahl family at the event.  “Additional information will be forthcoming, but we are delighted to be honoring Marion, David and Susan Hvistendahl at our annual meeting,” Scriven said. “They have been longtime supporters of …

Skeleton Could Be James Gang Member Clell Miller

A process called craniofacial superimposition could not rule out that the skeleton’s skull belonged to Clell Miller.

A forensic scientist says a skeleton with ties to Dr. Henry Wheeler, a central figure in Northfield’s storied James-Younger Raid of 1876, could be that of gang member Clell Miller. In a presentation last month in Atlanta at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences, James Bailey, Ph.D., a professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, said a process called craniofacial superimposition could not rule out that the skeleton’s skull belonged to Clell Miller. Miller was one of two gang members slain on the street in Northfield during the failed attempt to rob the First National Bank of Northfield.
