Caleb Thielbar was called up to the Minnesota Twins before their game with the Atlanta Braves on Monday night. Thielbar is a 26-year-old lefthanded relief pitcher.
UPDATE MONDAY 8:55 P.M.: Caleb Thielbar's Major League debut is complete. With the Minnesota Twins down 5-1 in the top of the ninth inning, Thielbar was removed from the game for a pinch-hitter. He finished the game with two innings pitched, three strikeouts, one hit allowed and no walks. _____________________________ UPDATE MONDAY 8:45 P.M.: Randolph native Caleb Thielbar just wrapped up his second inning of scoreless relief for the Minnesota Twins. So far in his Major League debut, the lefthander has three strikeouts and no walks and has allowed one hit. Northfield Middle School students were treated to a question-and-answer session with members of the Minnesota Twins as the the Twins Winter Caravan stopped at the school on Monday. The caravan is touring several sites in the area. T.C. Bear was also on deck to hand out memorobelia. Answering questions were infielder Brian Dozier, manager Ron Gardenhire and bench coach Terry Steinbach. Twins TV play-by-play announcer Dick Bremer was also in attendance. KYMN's Jeff Johnson helped fielding questions. The meet and greet was a welcome reminder that spring is coming, and with it the sounds and sights of baseball. The visit in Northfield will be part of the first day of the 53rd annual trip.
Northfield, get ready for the Minnesota Twins Caravan to make a stop in the city on Monday, Jan. 14. The visit in Northfield is part of the first day of the 53rd annual trip. Included on the trip will be Twins Manager Ron Gardenhire, bench coach Terry Steinbach, infielder Brian Dozier and announcer Dick Bremer. The Twins are scheduled to stop at the Northfield Middle School auditorium from 10:30-11:15 a.m. The event is open to the public. The students sang "America the Beautiful" during the seventh-inning stretch, according to Brian Trebelhorn, who sent the photo to Northfield Patch. The high school's website says the group was also scheduled to sing the National Anthem before the game.

Northfield Patch recaps the happenings of the past week.
Last week kicked off with Northfield Patch giving everyone a glimpse into being a Zero Hero. Northfield Boy Scouts Troop 313 spent 24 hours outside with the temperature dipping well below 0 and in the process earned the special patch. We were there to document the event. Check out the video. On Monday, Patch writer Allison Schmitt looked into the Northfield School District finances. Patch sat down with district roleplayers and talked about the district's financial history and how the future looks. Minnesota's most popular sports figure rolled into town on Wednesday.
