Three New, Yet Familiar Faces Elected to the Council; Incumbents, Hardy Elected to School Board

The results are in and Dana Graham is Northfield's new mayor.

The results are in and Dana Graham is Northfield's new mayor. Graham received 4,947 votes and defeated Councilor Rhonda Pownell, who received 3,461 votes. "First of all I want to thank Rhonda for running a very positive campaign and I look forward to working with her on the Council," Graham said when told the results by Northfield Patch. "I'm going to work very hard to show the people that their votes tonight are justified. We're going to do some good things in the next four years." Graham previously served on the Northfield City Council and was defeated by 13 votes in the 2008 At-Large race. In the Council races, David Ludescher narrowly defeated Betsey Buckheit on Tuesday night for the At-Large council position. With nearly 7,800 votes …

Election season is nearly done and Northfield City Council and mayoral candidates have released their finance reports that were due last week to the state's Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board.  Some candidates have raised thousands of dollars during the election cycle. With Election Day only hours away, some candidates still have cash on hand, at least according to the most recent reports. Northfield City Council Second and Third Ward candidates met Thursday at The Contented Cow for a forum. The forum, broadcasted live (and on repeat) on NTV, is embedded on this post. Included in the forum were Second Ward candidates Frank Balster and David DeLong and Third Ward candidates Jon Denison and Erica Zweifel. Primary Results: Who's Moving on to November?

Here are the results of all the primary races that include Northfield.

Results for all races are below the story and updates. Update: 11:45 p.m. With all eight of Northfield's precincts reporting, we have our Northfield City Council ballot set for November. Moving on from the At-Large race is Councilor Betsey Buckheit and David Ludescher. Buckheit led the way with 754 votes, or 42.94 percent of the vote. Ludescher followed with 646 votes (36.94 percent). Joe Gasior received 352 votes (20.13 percent). "It is always humbling to know hundreds of people give me their support and I will try to continue to earn those votes during the general election campaign against David Ludescher," Buckheit told Patch after the results became public.
