When Will My Christmas Tree Be Picked Up?

No doubt you've seen a Christmas tree or two sitting curbside since Dec. 26 and you've been left to wonder when they would be there no more.

No doubt you've seen a Christmas tree or two sitting curbside since Dec. 26 and you've been left to wonder when they would be there no more. Well, the day has arrived. Starting today, Dick's Sanitation, the city's new waste hauler, begins picking up Christmas trees from curbs throughout Northfield. Dick's will continue to pick up trees through Jan. 18. Dick's ask that you call their office at 952-469-2239 to notify them that you have a tree you'd like for them to pick up. Northfield Patch caught up with Joe Stapf, Northfield Public Works Director and City Engineer, to discuss the transition from Waste Management to Dick's Sanitation.

For this edition of Northfield 101, Northfield Patch caught up with Joe Stapf, Northfield Public Works Director and City Engineer, to discuss the transition from Waste Management to Dick's Sanitation. Effective Jan. 1, Dick's Sanitation is the new contract hauler for collection of refuse for Northfield residents. Residents should have received their new waste carts by now. Stapf says because the recycling carts are handled by Rice County, residents won't need to change out those carts. For Northfield residents who live in Dakota County, Dick's should have dropped off new recycling carts. Residents should begin using that new cart for all their refuse following their last pickup by Waste Management, which is this week. Following their last …
