Northfield Gators Take Fifth at State Meet
Two school records fell as swimming and diving team finished its season at Class A championship.
It's not a championship, but members of the Northfield girls swimming and diving team were happy with their fifth-place finish at the Class A state championship meet Saturday. "We are very pleased with where we placed," head coach Doug Davis said. "Last year we finished ninth, so it was good to move up." The Gators earned 140 points to comfortably take fifth place ahead of the No. 6 Fergus Falls team and its 120 points. Hutchinson won the Class A title with 213 points at the meet, which was held at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center. "We were a little bit snake-bit in the preliminaries," Davis said.
