A Carbone's spokesperson said a deal is still being negotiated for space in the River Park Mall.
Updated: 11 a.m. Monday Northfield, get ready for another pizza option—maybe. Carbone's Pizzeria is coming to the River Park Mall in the former 620 Grill space, lease holder Norman Butler told Patch on Sunday. But a spokesperson at Carbone's, which franchises out the restaurants, said the deal is still being negotiated and there was nothing to report. "Until it’s confirmed, it’s still up in the air," he said. Butler said he believes the restaurant is scheduled to open in July. Other details of the deal weren't immediately available. The Water Street space most recently housed 620 Grill, which closed in December, and Butler's Steak & Ale. Carbone's would join a long list of pizza options in Northfield, including Pizza Hut, which opened …

The restaurant was open for 16 months in downtown Northfield.
Pan Pan Café in downtown Northfield has closed after 16 months of business. A sign posted on the restaurant's door Sunday read: "Pan Pan regrettably is now closed for business. Our apologies and our thanks to our customers." A similar message was posted on Pan Pan's Facebook page Monday morning. Pan Pan served a selection of Asian fare and its menu dabbled in other disciplines during its time. The restaurant's closing comes about a month after proprietor Norm Butler closed 620 Grill. The bar and grill was open for about nine months. Butler also owns the Contented Cow and Chapati.

When contacted by Northfield Patch last month, Butler declined rumors that his restaurant and bar, which opened in March, was struggling.
620 Grill has closed for business, according to its Facebook page. When contacted by Northfield Patch last month, proprietor Norm Butler declined rumors that his restaurant and bar, which opened in March, was struggling and heading toward shuttering. On Tuesday, Butler told the Northfield News that "it just didn't work out." Before 620 Grill occupied the space on Water Street, Butler ran Butler's Steak and Ale, which closed late last year. In June, Northfield Patch did a video feature about 620 Grill's "Bad Idea Burger." Butler also owns the Contented Cow, Chapati and Pan Pan Café.

The community of Northfield was a party to all types of news over the past week. Northfield Patch reported on everything from schools that excel and lean small businesses to whiz kids and the changing face of the Northfield demographic.
