James Gang Youth Wrestling Registration & Parent Orientation


When: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Where: Northfield High School Wrestling Room, 1400 Division St. S.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5


Only those living in Northfield's Ward 4 will be tasked with hitting the polls this year to officially elect a candidate to fill the seat vacated by Patrick Ganey last year. Ganey resigned from his post after accepting a position at Middlebury College in Vermont. Jessica Peterson White was appointed by the council last fall to sit in Ganey's seat until this fall's special election.

Session: The Essential Documents You Need Before You Die 


When: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Where: Northfield Senior Center, 1651 Jefferson Pkwy.

Details: Death planning isn't exactly the most fun thing to think 
about, but if you want the people you care about to have an easier time if 
something happens to you (whether you're hospitalized for a while or actually 
pass away), gathering all your critical documents is essential. 

Book Signing with Illustrator Shona Brooks at the Eclectic Goat


When: 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

Where: Eclectic Goat, 413 Division St.

Details: New doodle books are in; they are illustrated by local artist Shona Brooks. Come for a signing Thursday evening.

Reading by Carleton Professor Scott Carpenter


When: 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7.

Where: Northfield Public Library, 210 Washington St.

Details: Scott Carpenter, a professor at Northfield's Carleton College will speak and read from his novel, "The Theory of Remainders."
