From 2014's first big winter storm to a massive social media security breach, here are five things you need to know for the coming week: 

1.  Winter’s coming. A major winter storm will ring in the New Year. The storm, predicted to affect the USA from the upper Midwest to the East Coast through Friday, is expected to bring the heaviest snow across southern New England on Thursday and early Friday.

2.  With the Affordable Care Act now in effect, millions of uninsured Americans either now have health coverage or will soon be covered. But experts say that's just one of many health care changes to watch for in 2014, including how the law will affect elections, what the states will decide about Medicaid expansion, and what insurers will do to react to their quickly changing demographics. 3. The number of people seeking unemployment benefits dipped 2,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 339,000, evidence that layoffs are low and hiring will likely remain steady. The unemployment rate fell to a five-year low of 7% in November. 

4. Snapchat got cracked. An estimated 4.6 million Snapchat usernames and phone numbers were leaked online late Tuesday night. The information was posted as a downloadable database by anonymous hackers.  Go here to see if your info was leaked.
