PHOTOS: Washing the Day Away

Northfield youngsters spend a beautiful Saturday afternoon washing vehicles for donations.

What could be better to do on a warm Saturday afternoon in May than to wash cars by hand?

Nothing, if you are one of the youth cleaning vehicles for donations in the parking lot this afternoon.

Youth members of are washing cars for free until 3 p.m. They are accepting donations for Do: Living Water, which, according to its website, raises awareness of water issues facing Africa and encourages youth-led fundraising efforts.

Shortly after 1:30 p.m., the local youth group was being kept busy handwashing a couple cars while two more were waiting in line. One of the youths said the group is ready to clean more.
