VIDEO: Northfielders Flock to Historical Society's Cemetery Stories
The stories of Northfield residents of yesteryear came alive at the seventh annual Cemetery Stories.
Seven residents of Northfield's past walked again, telling their stories with the assistance of current Northfielders at this past Saturday for the 's seventh annual .
Greg Kneser, dean of students at , was one of the actors and portrayed George Kimball Dike. Dike grew up in Northfield and served in the Union Army for two years. He also worked as a surveyor after being discharged and helped set the border between North and South Dakota upon reaching statehood.
Other Northfielders portrayed were John Sletten, Ira E. Sumner, Dr. Danforth J. Whiting, Ed Thye, Sarah Fishback and Laura Nutting.
