PHOTOS: Raid Re-enactment Still the Main DJJD Attraction
Even with all the surrounding fanfare, the center of the Defeat of Jesse James Days still attracts large crowds

If the crowd surrounding Division Street doesn't give it away, then the sounds of gunfire should.
The James-Younger Gang , a staple of the Defeat of Jesse James Days for many years, excited hundreds of people Saturday at one of the four re-enactments held that day. Two more re-enactments were held Friday night with two more scheduled for Sunday.

At the 11 a.m. Saturday re-enactment, 2-year-old Frankie Barry, in full cowboy regalia, sat in the first row on his father's lap as the raid re-enactment began.
"Those are robbers," he said as the horsemen came to a stop in front of the former .

Moments later, the gunfight ensued and ended almost as quickly as it began, with gunsmoke slowly rising above the downtown buildings. The crowd cheered for the actors as they rode through downtown again for their curtain call.
