I have done a lot of volunteering at LBSA including their art workshops, the annual Gala, Dinner Theater and their Golf Tournament. I have also helped out with the “Y Kids Tri”, the Kenyon Library’s summer reading program and while in high school I volunteered my time by working in the concession stands during sporting events, helping with blood drives and even taught a class on promoting lifetime activity for youth.

Career or long-term goals: I would like to pursue a career in Dentistry; however, I would also like to someday teach. Whether that is being a professor of Biology back at St. Olaf or teaching at the dental school that I was accepted to and attended.

Why do you want to a part of the DJJD Royalty Scholarship Program? I want to be a part of the DJJD Royalty Scholarship Program because it involves one of my favorite things, volunteering. I am passionate about volunteering and this program would expand my passion further into the community. I also want to make new friends and acquaintances while participating in the many fun, exciting and important community events. I would be able gain more knowledge about Jesse James and the history of Northfield as well.

What do you hope to accomplish if chosen to be a part of the Defeat of Jesse James Days Royalty Scholarship Program? If chosen, I would like to show others in this and surrounding communities the joys of volunteering and working within the community. I would love make life-long friendships with the other girls so that we could shine and represent all of the goodness that Northfield has to offer to its citizens. By accomplishing the above mentioned, I believe that more people would come and celebrate DJJD, because myself and others have truly shown our dedication to the values of volunteering, community and leadership.

What is your favorite event during the Defeat of Jesse James Days Celebration and why? My favorite event of the celebration is the car show. I go to it every year! I love to see all of the cars and classics. Not only are the cars fun to be around but the owners and other individuals there are fun and interesting as well. Every year there are new cars to see and new thoughts of “I want that car!” in my mind.
