Employer: HideAway Coffeehouse &

Sponsor:

Education: 2010 graduate from Perpich Center for Arts Education (PCAE) and will be returning to UW-River Falls this fall.

Educational goals: Majoring in English and Art with a minor in psychology. After receiving my four year degree I plan on either joining the Peace Corps or get a job where I can help people.

School activities, honors, clubs, etc.: I am in the honors program at UW-River Falls and was on the Brom Ball team as well as taking part in the Rodeo Round-up fundraiser.

Hobbies and recreation activities: My hobbies are reading, writing, dance, painting and drawing. As one of six kids, most of my recreational time is spent with the family.

Career or long-term goals: Ideally I would love to be a novelist, married with a big family and volunteer. Realistically, I am looking at joining the Peace Corp or getting a job after I finish my college education.

Why do you want to a part of the DJJD Royalty Scholarship Program? Since I am paying for college myself, the $1,500 would be a great help. Also, having grown up in Northfield, it is something I have dreamed about since I was a kid. Each year I have looked forward to the DJJD, so If I could take part in it by representing our town that would be amazing!

What do you hope to accomplish if chosen to be a part of the Defeat of Jesse James Days Royalty Scholarship Program? I would get to help out in the community and give back to the town I grew up in. I would also enjoy being a role model for young girls in Northfield.

What is your favorite event during the Defeat of Jesse James Days Celebration and why? Besides the fair food, my favorite thing is the reenactment. As an artist, I appreciate the authentic costumes and the way they do the reenactment is such a tribute to how the people of Northfield defended their bank.
