Northfield CROP (Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) Walk is the community-wide collaboration with the purpose of achieving four goals: eradicate hunger and poverty in the world; provide sustainable development for the poor; provide disaster relief; and resettle refugees.
Please join us on Sunday, September 30th, at 2 p.m. as we start from St. John's Lutheran Church, 500 Third Street West and walk together to Bridge Square. Seventy-five percent of funds raised will support projects around the world sponsored by Church World Service (CWS). The other twenty-five percent goes to eliminate poverty and hunger right here in Northfield through the work of the Northfield Community Action Center. Last year, $37,000 was generously given by the people and businesses of Northfield.
Pledge envelopes can be picked up at any church in Northfield. Financial contributions can also be made by writing a check to "CWS/CROP" and mailing it to Betty Chapman at Community Resource Bank, 1605 Heritage Drive, Northfield, 55057.
