VOTE: Patch's Summer Vacation Photo Contest — Finals

Here are your four finalists. Who has your vote for the grand prize getaway?

Sharing snapshots from a recent vacation isn't a new idea. But being rewarded for it is.

Patch has partnered with Caribou Coffee, , Foodies on Foot and  to sweeten the idea of sharing.

For the past four weeks we asked Patch users to  from this summer. Each week, Northfield Patch Editor Corey Butler Jr. and Minnesota Associate Regional Editor Kevira Voegele narrowed the field to 10 photos for voting. Patch users then voted for their favorite photos.

We now have our four finalists.

Now we're asking you to leave a comment at the bottom of this page telling us which is your favorite photo (numbered 1-4 above). You surely could just leave the number, but go ahead and tell us why you like the photo. Be sure to share the page with all your friends to see if you can drum up more support for your favorite snapshot. Voting ends 9 p.m. Sunday.

After a week of voting (Monday, Sept. 3 through 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9), we'll announce the winner from the finals. The photo that collects the most comments of support gets the photographer a grand prize getaway to Stillwater valued up to $500 with an overnight stay at Water Street Inn, a Foodies on Foot adventure and a tour at Northern Vineyards Winery.

And, some of the legal details:

  • Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
  • To enter, upload your summer vacation photos to the “Patch's Summer Vacation Photo Contest“ post on any of the 25 Minnesota Patch sites. Entrants can only submit photos of their own original photos, which must be from this summer. The use of any agencies or automated software to submit entries will void all entries submitted by that person.
  • All entries must be received by 9 p.m. CDT Wednesday of the competing week.
  • Four weekly winners will receive a $25 gift card to Caribou Coffee.
  • One grand prize winner selected from the weekly winners will receive a grand prize valued up to $500. The grand prize includes an overnight stay at Water Street Inn, a Foodies on Foot adventure and a tour at Northern Vineyards Winery, all located in Stillwater. Transportation to/from Stillwater is not included in the prize and will be the responsibility of the winner.

See the attached PDF for complete Official Rules.

Of course, we encourage you to share the link with your friends and family and brag about your great photo. Tell Patch and community members something awesome about your photograph in comments section below.

Jen,
#1 has my vote. This is a cool picture, but more importantly it is because of all the other neat pictures I've seen you do over time. I know you have a true passion for photography and want you to know that is why my vote goes your way. Pictures can capture a thousand words, but they do not always say the million things they do in real life. I’m sure a million things were going through your head as you sat on the edge looking into whatever it may have been! All the other pictures are great as well (no doubt about it), but I'm all in on #1! Good luck & keep snapping away ; ) Andy Schlievert

Is someone cheating? September 9, 2012 at 10:28 pm
Whoa. I am getting email notifications and i see the EXACT comments coming through with different names. Then, the comments are deleted from the post and replaced with other ones. What exactly is going on here?

I vote #1
Patricia Volkert September 9, 2012 at 10:57 pm
Something like that happened to me when a few of us voted from the same computer. This website logs the person in when they vote , and when the next voter comes along, they end up voting as the previous person. This site is awkward to work with, and very very slow ;-(
Are you cheating? September 9, 2012 at 11:04 pm
I would be inclined to believe that.... Except i went back and saw that even Kirby Puckett voted for her. Oh really?

I love that the sculpture was moved the courtyard. How nice!
Christian Arthur Brumm June 14, 2013 at 11:58 am
That supposed sculpture was an eyesore and I for one am glad to see it gone.
