Andrew Brobston, DFL58 Senate Candidate, is $300 away from reaching his first fundraising goal by July 23.  That goal is $3000.  When he reaches that goal, he will get the dedicated public campaign funds, somewhere in the 8000-9000 dollar range.  That means for every $1 you give him right now, you are in essence donating $30 worth of funds to his campaign.  Let’s put him over the top today, so he can concentrate on wooing voters, not fundraising.

Thank you for all of the support you have given the DFL candidates in DFL58.  I do want to remind all of you that when Andrew pushes over that $3000 goal, that’s not the end.  That is just the first financial goal.  If Andrew’s fundraising stopped there, he might be able to do one mailer to a quarter of the district and buy a small pile of signs.  Campaigns are expensive and require our support.

Colin Lee in 58A is trying to raise extra cash to put out his first mailer right now.  He needs a few donations.  Jim Arlt in 58B is planning on doing several mailings by Election Day.  Knowing how hard it is to raise money, I’m urging you to support these candidates fully.  I’m asking that each of you consider making a monthly donation to each of our three DFL candidates.  Each of you can contribute up to $500 this year, but simply making the commitment to send $10 or $20 a month to each of them in July, August, September and October, will make a huge difference.  How about this idea, let’s make these monthly donations $20.12, so every time the candidates see these donations, they are reminded that we are committed to supporting their campaign.

Our local DFL58 group will be meeting at Meadowview Elementary School in Farmington on August 2 at 6:30 pm.  This is our regular local monthly DFL meeting.  Please join us.  Also, I am looking for volunteers from 4-7pm or 7-10pm, every night of the fair Monday through Friday August 6 to August 10, and Sunday, I don’t have a single volunteer yet, 10-1pm, 1-4pm or 4-7pm.  And finally, donations are a little scarce for our Aug 17 picnic in the park fundraiser and silent auction.  If you have an item you think might be good for the silent auction, please contact me, Chair@DFL58.org
