Northfield's Ed Santurri and his wife, Jolene Barjasteh, took in the Minnesota Lynx Fan Appreciation Night on Monday and shared their story for the Lynx's website.

The season ticket holders, who are both professors at St. Olaf College, talked with the Lynx's Mark Remme about their love of the team, how team members are positive role models and how they have had the chance to sit in on press conferences, watch practices and meet the players on a first-name basis.

“Every night is Fan Appreciation Night,” Barjasteh told the website about the defending WNBA champions. “I really am grateful the way they acknowledge the role of the fans in the success they’ve had. They have tremendous athleticism, and tremendous teamwork, but it’s quite obvious they need the fans to really pull things together, especially when it gets tough.”
