Northfield Gymnastics Tops Owatonna

The Raiders won with a team score of 141.25.

Coming off back-to-back state championships, the bar is high for the Northfield gymnastics team.

And the squad continued its success with a season opening victory Thursday in Owatonna.

The Raiders won with a team score of 141.25, a mark that co-coach Paul Bernhard was more than happy to see.

"It was a great meet," he said. "We've dealt with a lot of adversity."

One of the stars of the team, freshman Bailey DuPay, is out with an ankle injury, but the rest of the team is more than capable of posting competitive marks.

Senior co-captain Meaghan Howell led the effort with an all-around high score of 36.5.

The Huskies scored 132.4.
