VIDEO: Northfield Girls Hockey Cruise to a 6-0 Win, Section Finals

The Raiders next play Friday against No. 1 Red Wing.

Call it momentum. Call it domination. In the end, all that matters is that you call it winning.

After shutting down Waseca 8-0 on Friday, the Northfield girls varisty hockey team on Tuesday played an aggressive, physical game to defeat Hwy. 3 rival Faribault and to score a spot in the Section 1A final on Friday.

No. 2 seeded Northfield faces No. 1 seeded Red Wing, which won 4-3 on Tuesday against Albert Lea.

Goalie Sam Stark made 36 saves en route to her second straight shutout.

Northfield players shared the glory Tuesday night. Scoring for the Raiders were Cassie Thomas, Sarah Behr, Aleisha Bielenber, Becca Schultz, Frannie Seitz and Annie Pumper.

Friday's game, which is in Owatonna, is at 5 p.m. The winner heads to the state tournament.
