Northfield Boys Fall to Mayo in Soccer Finals
The Raiders lose 2-1 in the Section 1AA championship matchup.
The Northfield boys soccer team lost a 2-1 match against Rochester Mayo on Tuesday in the Section 1AA championship in Rochester.
The Raiders fell to the Spartans after defeating Farmington 5-1 in the section quarterfinals, then defeated Lakeville North 1-0 in the semifinals before falling to Mayo in the championship.
The loss eliminates the Raiders (12-6-1) from the section playoffs.

Rochester Mayo (13-3-2) finished the section tournament with a 2-0 win over Owatonna, a 3-0 win over Lakeville South and the win over Northfield. The Spartans will compete in the Class AA state quarterfinals on Oct. 26.
