Northfield Dance Team Competes at Sections, Fails to Make State

The Hiliners dance team does well, but fails to advance to state in the ultra-competitive Section 1AAA section championships

Northfield High School's Hiliners dance team danced their hearts out, but couldn't gain a berth in the state dance team meet Saturday in the Section 1AAA dance team tournament held at Bloomington Kennedy High School.

The 14-team section annually features some of the best high school dance teams in the state and this season was no exception.

Eastview of Apple Valley won both the high kick and jazz divisions Saturday to qualify for next weekend's state meet.

Lakeville North was second and Burnsville third in the jazz division. Apple Valley and Faribault were second and third, respectively, in the high kick competition.
