PHOTOS: Northfield's Elementary Students Host A Spectacular

Bridgewater and Sibley elementaries' Companeros students presented a cultural celebration.

and elementaries' Companeros students on Thursday hosted a celebration of Hispanic culture with El Espectáculo del Talento at .

Nine groups sang and performed choreographed dances set to music sung in Spanish. Featured were traditional lullabies and dances like El Basero as well as contemporary work from Shakira.

About 300 students participated. The Companeros program works to teach students to read, write and speak in English and Spanish.
