The district is looking for a few residents to serve on the District Educational Program Advisory Council (DEPAC).

The Northfield school district is seeking a few good men and women to volunteer for the District Educational Program Advisory Council (DEPAC).

DEPAC is collaborative group that includes district administrators, staff, school board members, parents and community members. Together, they work to "assure community-school cooperation in setting improvement goals, evaluating progress toward meeting annual objectives, and reporting findings and recommendations." The council concentrates on three areas of school policy in particular—assessment, teaching and learning, and student services.

The group meets six times during the school year. The first meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 4, followed by meetings on Nov. 18, Feb. 17, March 17, April 21 and May 19.
