Northfield ACT Scores Ahead of Minnesota, Nation

82 percent of NHS graduates took the ACT compared to 74 percent of Minnesota's graduates

ACT score comparisons

• Northfield's English score is 2.5 points higher than the state and 4.1 points higher than the nation
• Northfield's math score is 2.6 points higher than the state and 4.5 points higher than the nation
• Northfield's reading score is 2.4 points higher than the state and 4 points higher than the nation
• Northfield's science score is 2.1 points higher than the state and 3.9 points higher than the nation
• Northfield's composite score is 2.4 points higher than the state and 4.1 points higher than the nation

Ready for college-level coursework (exceed score of 18 in English, 22 in math, 21 in reading and 24 in science). A benchmark score is the minimum score needed to provide a 50 percent chance of obtaining a B and a 75 percent chance of receiving a C in a college course.

• 90 percent of Northfield's ACT tested students are reading for college English composition, while only 78 percent of the state and 67 percent of the nation are ready
• 84 percent of Northfield's ACT tested students are ready for college algebra, while only 62 percent of the state and 46 percent of the nation are ready
• 80 percent of Northfield's ACT tested students are ready for college social science, while only 64 percent of the state and 52 percent of the nation are ready
• 60 percent of Northfield's ACT tested students are ready for college biology, while only 42 percent of the state and 31 percent of the nation are ready
• 59 percent of Northfield's ACT tested students are ready in all four areas, while only 36 percent of the state and 25 percent of the nation are ready
