Leading Education Advocate to Present Carleton’s

Leading urban sociologist and education advocate, Pedro Noguera will deliver Carleton’s College’s weekly convocation address on Friday, Oct. 7 at 10:50 a.m. in the Skinner Memorial Chapel. His presentation, entitled “Creating the Schools We Need: A Broader and Bolder Approach to School Reform,” honors Latino Heritage Month at the College. Noguera will examine the obstacles standing in the way of providing equal education for all, as well as discussing the solutions that are already working to overcome those obstacles. The author of many acclaimed books on public education, Noguera will sign copies of his books, which will be available for purchase at the event, following his presentation. Convocation is free and open to the public.
