Walk for the Animals! Saturday, May 4th

Walk your paws for a cause! Join Prairie's edge Humane Society on Saturday, May 4th for our annual Walk for the Animals!

It’s that time of year again! Time for the annual "Walk for the Animals" to raise funds for the animals at Prairie’s Edge Humane Society. This is our 26th year for the walk. This year’s walk will be held on Saturday, May 4th at Shager Park, Cannon Lake, west of Faribault on Hwy 60. We will be walking the bike path along the lake. Come join the fun, bring your friendly, leashed pet and the whole family for a fun morning walk. There will be prizes for the top fundraisers, t-shirts for anyone who raises at least $50 (while supplies last), snacks for the walkers, pet goodie bags and vendors.

The walk is one of the largest fundraising events of the year for Prairie’s Edge Humane Society. Proceeds will be used to help the homeless animals cared for at the shelter and to fund our many community programs. We are looking forward to seeing you and your pet! The walk will take place rain or shine so dress for the weather. All walkers should register at the pavilion at Shager Park, then choose a distance to walk; one-half, one, two or three mile options will be available. After completing the walk, the trail will bring participants back to the pavilion for snacks, pet goodies and prizes. You can walk anytime between 8:30 am - noon, however you should begin your walk no later than 10:00 am so that you are sure to finish by noon. All walkers under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. All pets must be up to date on their vaccinations.
