Senate District 20 Gets Republican Candidate

Michael J. Dudley so far is the only Republican candidate for Senate District 20.

New Prague's Michael J. Dudley announced on Monday that he'll seek the Republican endorsement for state senator of Senate District 20, according to the Northfield News.

Dudley, 58, is the only Republican candidate so far for the newly formed Senate District 20.

Sen. Al DeKruif, who currently represents Northfield and its Senate District 25, was shifted out of the district following last month. On Sunday, the Republican announced he to the Senate.

Dudley is the second candidate to announce a bid to represent Senate District 20.

Former Sen. Kevin Dahle, who was defeated in 2010 by DeKruif, is seeking the  for a 2012 bid.

Dudley practiced law in Wisconsin for six years and served 26 years with the FBI before retiring in 2011, according to the newspaper.
