Rice County Commissioners Approve Maximum Tax Levy
Commissioner Galen Malecha shares the latest news from Rice County.
In what was described by Commissioner Galen Malecha as a short meeting, the Rice County Commissioners approved the county’s maximum tax levy at 4.52 percent for 2013 on Tuesday.
By state law, commissioners had until Sept. 18 to approve a levy.
Over the next couple of months, county department leaders will meet and, if possible, discuss ways of decreasing the levy, Malecha said.
