Why are you running for a seat on the Northfield School Board? What do you offer the board and district?

My primary goal in running for the school board is to give back and actively help the community using my skill set. The current school board is doing a wonderful job at setting the focus and direction for the district and I want to add my support and be a part of that process.  I want to help the Northfield School District to continue providing the high quality of education to the students of Northfield.

What’s the most pressing issue facing the district?

The three most important issues in the coming year for the Northfield Schools are funding, rolling out technology, and eliminating bullying in the schools.

What is something you think the current school board has done well?

I think the current board is doing a good job of trying to eliminate bullying the school and identifying ways to integrate technology in the schools.

What is something you think the current school board hasn’t done well?

Overall they are doing a good job, but property taxes are extremely high in Northfield and we need to manage our current budget to keep costs low or increase our income coming in from other revenue sources.

What would you have tried to do differently?

I would have pushed harder not to increase property taxes but instead, by using my business knowledge, I would have worked to reduce expenses by searching for new ideas.

Why should constituents vote for you on Election Day? What makes you a better choice than your opponents?

I believe that education is one of the most important service we can provide for our youth.  Every child should have the chance to achieve excellence in Academics, Art, and Athletics in a safe environment, while maximizing our educational dollars.  If I am elected, that will be my priority.

Anything else you would like to add?

Regardless of who wins the elections, thank you for taking the time to listen to what I have to say.
