Northfield News: Postal Service to Renew Listing for Post Office Soon

A new appraisal will bring the listed price in line with the current market, a USPS spokesperson told the newspaper.

The U.S. Postal Service will update its real estate listing of the downtown Northfield post office soon, according to the Northfield News

The fresh appraisal was conducted partly because the building has been listed for so long, instigating the need for another look at the price in today's market, according to USPS spokesperson Pete Nowacki. Another reason relates to the fact that the USPS has not accepted any of the offers out there.

"We have to meet a certain threshold when we put a property up that relates to the appraised value," Nowacki said. "So, if we’re not seeing offers in that area, then, yeah, we do have to take another look at what we’re priced."
