LTE: Take a Sneak Preview of the City of Northfield's New Website!

Councilor Suzie Nakasian encourages residents to preview the city's new website to offer comments.

To the Editor:

In an important step to make it easier for the community to communicate with, and contribute to, local government in Northfield, the 2012 Council approved a comprehensive overhaul of the City of Northfield's website and computer systems. That process is now almost complete (under budget and ahead of schedule), and a new and significantly expanded City website is ready for the public's review.

Please stop by City Hall during one or more of the Public Open Houses (dates below) to get a sneak preview of the new website, and to offer your feedback and suggestions to its design team!

The new site includes a new citywide events calendar, an electronic bill pay program you can use to pay your utility bills (and other bills), meeting notices, email links to your elected representatives and city staff, nifty new way for you to report your concerns and suggestions to the City AND (remarkably) a way to track the City's response to those concerns and suggestions. The new system attractive, well organized, easy to use and designed to make it easier for community members to be in touch with City Hall.

Don't miss the opportunity to test out the new website! The City is eager for your feedback: no previous computer experience is needed!
