I-35 Construction in Rice County Begins July 30

Expect major delays on weekends and heavy travel times.

Motorists can expect lane closures on Interstate 35 between Rice County Road 9 and the Heath Creek Rest Area beginning Monday, July 30, when crews begin concrete repair work.

The project includes repairing the concrete pavement on the northbound and southbound lanes and resurfacing the Rice County Road 1 exit and entrance ramps and shoulders.

The ramps will be closed during resurfacing. Motorists should follow the posted detour, which includes Rice County Road 1, Rice County Road 46, Highway 19 and I-35.
