Follow President Obama's Visit to Cannon Falls on Northfield Patch

We'll bring you live updates throughout the morning and afternoon.

Residents of the Northfield area are in for a treat today as President Barack Obama makes his way through our territory.

Regardless of your political alignment, I am a firm believer that it's a great moment anytime you can see the president. It's about respecting the office, not necessarily the man (or woman) who holds the seat. Call me old school.

Northfield Patch will have people on the ground in Cannon Falls to get photos, videos and comments from folks who are there to welcome—or heckle—Obama. We'll be in the event as Obama speaks and will have people canvassing the scene outside, which could very likely be more interesting than what happens at the actual event.

Also, keep in mind that Obama's bus tour is heading to Iowa after the Cannon Falls stop. There's a good chance that his motorcade may roll through Northfield en route to Interstate 35. Keep your eyes—and phones—open and ready.
