DeKruif, Woodard Schedule District 25 Meetings

Northfield's representatives at the State Capitol will be in town Saturday, Feb. 4, as part of a three-city tour.

As they officially return to work at the in St. Paul today, the two state lawmakers who represent Northfield in the Minnesota Legislature have announced a series of meetings with District 25 residents next month.

(R-District 25) and (R-District 25B) will make Northfield the first stop on their district tour Saturday, Feb. 4. They will meet with residents at , 410 Division St. S., from 8 to 10 a.m.

That will be followed by stops at the Lonsdale Library, 1006 Birch St. NE, Lonsdale, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., and Kingsway Retirement Living, 815 W. Main St., Belle Plaine, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

According to a press release distributed this morning by Woodard's office, residents can take part in the Feb. 4 community meetings by booking a 15-minute block.

Much of the discussion at the meeting is expected to center on the opening days of this year's legislative session, which kicks off at noon today.

“A top priority in 2012 will be to continue to identify the kinds of reforms that improve our business climate, improve the delivery of services from the state, and make the most of Minnesotans hard-earned tax dollars,” Woodard says in the press release. “Your input is crucial to this process and I welcome all of your thoughts and ideas. These office hours meetings have been very popular with area residents in the past and I look forward to another round of productive discussions.”
