County Commission: Preliminary Net Tax Levy approved

Here’s a look back at Tuesday’s Rice County Board of Commissioners meeting.

The commissioners:
• Awarded a contract for replacing a bridge on County Road 59.
• Discussed the Fiscal Year 2013 Clean Water Fund.
• Discussed granting a consumption and display permit to Red Barn Farms of Northfield.
• Established a proposed timeline for the partial abandonment of County Ditch 15.
• Set a date for a public hearing for tax abatement for the proposed Living Greens Farm project.
• Dealt with a joint funding agreement for the Cannon River stream gauge project.
• Approved the consent agenda, which include the approval of installing “Deputy John W. Liebenstein Memorial Highway” signage on the entrance ramps from County Road 1to Interstate 35.
• Adopted the county preliminary net tax levy.
