Several Downtown Northfield Businesses Burglarized

Hundreds of dollars were taken from four businesses.

Northfield Police say a burglar or burglars used an unlocked door to steal money either late Friday or early Saturday from several businesses in the Holland Building at the intersection of Fifth and Division streets.

A door at was reportedly left unlocked for construction workers, said Deputy Chief of Police Chuck Walerius. An internal hallway connects Heartwork with several other businesses, which the bandit or bandits used to gain access to by prying open doors to each business.

Other businesses broken into include and a shared space between and Buttons and Bows Doll Clothes.

Walerius said only cash was taken.

Lisa Emery of Lisa's Alterations said about $280 was taken out of her and Buttons and Bows' cash registers.

Walerius said there are no suspects at this point.

In April, were broken into in an overnight spree. About $900 was taken then.
