Piggyback Bandit Makes Appearance at St. Olaf Game

In a game at Concordia College-Moorhead on Feb. 8, Sherwin Shayegan, the 28-year-old man known as the Piggyback Bandit, lingered around the St. Olaf bench.

The "Piggyback Bandit," a Washington man who has been jumping on the backs of high school basketball players throughout the country, made an appearance at a St. Olaf College basketball game last week.

In a game at Concordia College-Moorhead on Feb. 8, Sherwin Shayegan, the 28-year-old man known as the Piggyback Bandit, lingered around the St. Olaf bench, according to a report from ESPN High School.

"I think at one point he was giving water to individuals," Mike Ludwig, St. Olaf's sports information director, told the website.

Shayegan, who pleaded guilty in Montana one week earlier for two misdemeanor assault charges for jumping on the backs of player, did not jump on the backs of any players at the St. Olaf game, according to ESPN.
