UPDATED: One Dead After Vehicle Rolls Over Into River

A rural Faribault man died Saturday morning after his Ford Ranger rolled over into the Straight River in Walcott Township in southern Rice County.

A rural Faribault man died Saturday morning after his Ford Ranger rolled over into the Straight River in Walcott Township in southern Rice County.

The Rice County Sheriff's Office has identified the man as Andrew P. Bice, 21.

According to the Sheriff's Office:

INCIDENT: VEHICLE ROLLOVER FATALITY
DATE: 10/27/2012
TIME REPORTED: 07:13 am
LOCATION OF INCIDENT: 3000 BLOCK 220TH STREET EAST, WALCOTT TWP
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:

-AT APPROXIMATELY 07:13, RICE CO. DEPUTIES WERE DISPATCHED TO A VEHICLE ROLLED OVER IN THE RIVER. FARIBAULT FIRE/RESCUE WAS ALSO DISPATCHED TO ASSIST WITH CHECKING THE VEHCILE AS IT WAS PARTIALLY SUBMERGED IN THE RIVER

-RESCUE PERSONNEL LOCATED A FORD RANGER PICK-UP IN THE RIVER. ONE VICTIM WAS FOUND INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND HE WAS DECEASED.

-THE VICTIM HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED TO HASTINGS FOR AN AUTOPSY

-THE VICTIM’S IDENTIFICATION IS PENDING NOTIFICATION OF NEXT OF KIN

-THE CRASH INVESTIGATION IS BEING INVESTIGATED BY THE RICE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, WITH ASSISTANCE FROM THE MN STATE PATROL
