Northfield Woman, Dundas Man Seriously Injured in I-35 Motorcycle Crash
Audrey D. Stanton, 37, of Northfield and Derek R. Haagensen, 44, of Dundas were hurt Sunday evening when a 2002 Harley Davidson Roadster that Haagensen was driving ran off the road and struck a bridge guardrail near Faribault.
A Northfield woman and a Dundas man were seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 35 near Faribault on Sunday evening.
Audrey D. Stanton, 37, of Northfield and Derek R. Haagensen, 44, of Dundas were hurt when the 2002 Harley Davidson Roadster that Haagensen was driving ran off the road and struck a bridge guardrail, says a Minnesota State Patrol incident report. The crash was reported at 6:14 p.m.
Both were listed on the incident report as suffering serious injuries.

Sunday’s crash was the third serious motorcycle crash in Rice County in recent days. A 54-year-old Owatonna woman was killed and an Owatonna man was hurt in a motorcycle crash in Faribault on July 21. Then, on July 24, Todd Fletcher, 50, of Faribault died when his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer near the Flying J truck stop west of Northfield.

According to the state patrol incident report, Haagensen was the driver and Stanton was a passenger of a motorcycle heading north on I-35 near the 56-mile marker when the cycle ran off the road, hit a bridge guardrail and came to rest north of the bridge.

The Faribault Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and the North Memorial helicopter responded to the scene.
The Rice County Sheriff’s Department is assisting the state patrol in the investigation.
