Northfield Woman Dies in Two-Car Collision

The Minnesota State Patrol said the road was icy.

A Northfield woman has died after being involed a two-car wreck Friday afternoon near Two Harbors.

Caitlin D. Kelly, 19, was driving her Honda Civic on Highway 61 when it spun out and was struck on the passenger side by another vehicle, according to a Minnesota State Patrol report.

The State Patrol said the road was icy.

Kelly was wearing her seat belt and her airbag deployed, the report said.

The driver of the second vehicle, Paul Drindak, 62, of Thunder Bay, ON, was not injured. The State Patrol reported that alcohol was detected on Drindak but didn't say how much. The passenger in Drindak's vehicle, Linda Drindak, 61, had non-life-threatening injuries and was brought to St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
