UPDATED: Northfield Police, FBI Searching for Armed Robber of US Federal Credit Union

A man, estimated at 6 feet tall and medium build, is reported to have fled on foot after robbing the US Federal Credit Union at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

Northfield Police are looking for a male suspect who they say brandished a handgun and robbed the at about 3 p.m. Thursday.

Director of Public Safety Mark Taylor said it appears the man fled on foot, heading east from the credit union.

A K-9 unit from Le Sueur County is searching Jefferson Road and the nearby area for a scent from the alleged robber. FBI agents from Mankato are assiting with case, as well, Taylor said.

According to video footage and a description from the teller, the man is about 6 feet tall, has a medium build, was wearing a ski mask over his face and head, and was wearing dark gloves, a dark jacket and dark pants.

Taylor said the most identifiable trait was the man’s white shoes, which has a single stripe on the sides, though he said the video’s quality wasn’t high enough to recognize a logo.

Police are not releasing images from the security video at this time.

Anyone with information pertaining to the incident is asked to call the anonymous police tip hotline at 507-645-4475.
